Advent Atmosphere

This morning’s early jog felt sleepy and seasonal. My pace was slower than ever and I took time to notice the external and internal signs of the season and enjoyed the slowing down into my experience. When we allow the energy of the moment to take its natural course, there is often a greater sense of peace and self-acceptance.

Christmas Chill

The dampened sky is winding down, it’s light is dimmed and gentle

This is a time for dressing gowns and old films sentimental

It’s morning time but lamplights shine, the curtains barely open

A chance to rest before the climb, relaxing is not moping!

The advent candles dress the sills, their glow invites reflection

This year invites us deeper still into our self-connection

I feel my feet upon the ground, the quietness assures me

The dampened sky is winding down, creating time’s before me
