The Marianne Williamson once said, “As we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same” and this is so true. When our spirit radiates through our being we inspire and uplift and today’s poem is all about just that!
Starry One
Sparkle from the inside out, no one can dull your shine
Dazzle them out of the doubt, fizz up like sparkling wine
Shimmy everything you’ve got, be not afraid or bitter
You’re not ‘too much’, yes you’re a lot, bring on your sass and glitter!
Glimmer like a sunset lake, for goodness sake you’re stunning
Delicious as a chocolate cake, each day more rich becoming
Don’t need to pose, pretend or pout, just let what’s real unwind
and sparkle from the inside out, no one can dull your shine

I began writing poetry on a daily basis when I lost my Father back in 2015 and I haven't stopped since. Writing in nature is as much a part of me as brushing my teeth and I am so very grateful for this outlet in my life.
Aside from all things poetic, I am a jogger, a hiker, a creative mover and I also co-lead an online Untaming Femininity Tribe for women wishing to explore their femininity on their own terms. View all posts by Sam Allen Creative Coach
