For now, here’s one of todays poems!

Kindreds

I haven’t been a great friend recently.

I mean, I’ve still kept my word and all that and checked in every day.

But it has felt a bit superficial somehow.

A little formulaic…

Somewhat pedestrian, you know?

I know, I know, it takes two to tango.

And what you put in you get back out.

And, it’s a question of priorities and all that.

Look, I do want things to be different and no matter how things look right now, I haven’t forgotten.

You were there for me when I was at rock bottom. You took me by the hand and loved me through my grief, gently steering me towards my expression. You held me, you noticed me and I wailed with you. You gave a voice to my intensity and never made my feelings wrong. And I cannot even begin to tell you what that means.

As I write these words there are tears of remembering.

Tears of appreciation.

Tears of tenderness.

You are a friend in the true sense of the word. A friend who is always by my side and with whom I can just pick up from where I left off. You let me be me, warts and all and you celebrate my every emotion.

Just know, dear Poetry

I do not take you for granted.
