A photo of two cute cows licking each others faces in my hotel room was the inspiration behind a Triolet poem that I wrote on holiday last week. For the unaccustomed, here is some information about the Triolet.
French form. Syllabic (in English parody, accentually syllabic). A poem consisting of a single Octave turning on two rhymes. It is built on two refrains: line one reappears as line four and again as line seven; line two reappears as line eight, completing the poem. The triolet rhymes ABaAaBaAB. Lines can be of any single length.

I began writing poetry on a daily basis when I lost my Father back in 2015 and I haven't stopped since. Writing in nature is as much a part of me as brushing my teeth and I am so very grateful for this outlet in my life.
Aside from all things poetic, I am a jogger, a hiker, a creative mover and I also co-lead an online Untaming Femininity Tribe for women wishing to explore their femininity on their own terms. View all posts by Sam Allen Creative Coach
