Wondrous Walks

Yesterday’s morning walk into the forest was sensational. The sky was clear blue and beaming with sunshine and the birdsong was louder than ever! I felt so delighted to be out amidst the signs of Spring emerging and literally bathed in the energy present. Whilst en route I wrote the poem below and recorded the little video featured afterwards.

Returning

The forest is my second home

Each day into its arms I roam

Whichever challenges I face

Among the trees I find my place

The forest is a place to bathe

It knows what my heart truly craves

I find my answers in the thrill

of chilly, sunny coos and trills

The forest puts the world to rights

It cuts me slack, it holds me tight

Its energy uplifts my soul

The forest helps me to feel whole

I rise each morning with the larks

It feels divine, to sense the sparks

of blissful life, and cheerful tones

The forest is my second home
