New Year Presence

Today’s poem was inspired by my other half, Android, on our journey back from the mountains. He told me he thought it would be a good idea to write about prising ourselves away from our devices and taking the time to look outside and so I did! Happy New Year!

Look Up

Look up and put your iPhone down

Look up, inhale the roses

When you take time to look around

More joy your life exposes

Look up and watch the clouds that scud

with ease across the skyway

Take note of all the shoots and buds

Set foot upon the byways

Look up, look ‘round, look out to sea

Inhale the scene before you

Be present to this moment’s glee

Pure energy implores you

Allow your senses, hear the sounds

Distractions are but showbiz

Look up and put your iPhone down

Look up, inhale the roses

  1. So true – we were just talking about this two days ago. It has been especially easy to have our phones in our hands with everything going on. I have started to leave my phone in the other end of the house after five so I don’t feel tempted to pick it up.
Happy New Year and a lovely poem as always.
Love, health and happiness to you and your family. ❤️💕🤗Joni

      1. Yes, we have to or we become completely addicted. It is like a child and their favorite blanket. Such a great point. Hope you had a great New Year. On to our next year which holds more promise. 🤗💕❤️🦋Sending Love Joni
