Taking it In

By the time I managed to get out for some fresh air yesterday it was cold and dark and my body just wanted to curl up like a hedgehog and hibernate instead! As is always the case though, the stroll woke me up and got the creative juices flowing so it was a good decision all round!

Night Strolling

The clouds of frozen winter breath hang in the barren lane

The darkness makes my thinking less, my hands type on in vain

White Christmas lights dress up the night and I pass by enraptured

The nuances of advent life deserve to be well captured

Beneath street lamp, my heart re-vamps today’s emerging musings

It takes so little to excite when energy is choosing

I wander home to get some rest and settle In again

Whilst all my daily cares depart into dark winter lanes
