Morning Meandering

There is nothing more purifying than striding out for a morning stroll before civilisation has surfaced. Each time that I do this I feel so grateful and alive and always end up writing. Yesterday morning the air was chilly and autumnal and my soul felt very content to clamber the hills in solitude!

The purity cuts through the hills each morning when I walk

My inner world enjoys the still, no need for social talk

The dew-glazed grass appears to ask my soul to let life feed it

A flock of swallows filters past, my higher self is needed

The fullness that weโ€™re meant to be cannot be squeezed or fitted

When I give nature half the chance, the answers are transmitted

This breathing space my heart refills, cleared by the swallowโ€™s squawk

The purity cuts through the hills each morning when I walk

      1. I just had mine longer than I had in awhile. but now it is much shorter than I am used to… boy short. By the grace of God I was able to donate it. I had actually been growing it well before the pandemic because a doctor kept encouraging me too.
Your hair looks pretty! I like natural hair. That’s how I prefer to wear mine. ๐Ÿ™‚
