Looking Up

On Tuesday evening I had the urge to go for an early evening walk. It was a balmy summer evening and I barely saw a soul. Such a treat to get to the top of the hill and look our from where the blue and green become one. I cannot help but feel grateful when out in nature.

Summer High

I’m high up in a summer field

Where blue divides the green

The harmony this evening wields

New meaning to serene

The sun beams still across dry hills

The hay scent strong and present

We have the choice ourselves to fill

with beauty, says my essence

Each step I take, I’m more awake

to magical abundance

The more I sense the more I break

away from what’s redundant

New fangled things hold no appeal

I bask beneath the gleam

of radiant high summer fields

Where blue melts into green

      1. Anywhere with nature, streets or shops don’t do a thing for me. Unfortunately, all my favourite walks are becoming a little too far to get to…
