This month I have been holding a Creative Spring Challenge in which I post a video prompt each day and participants respond to the prompt using their preferred creative medium and share. The challenge is generating a lot of positive, creative energy and some participants have asked me to continue with this beyond the month of March. If you too would like to be included, connect with me via Facebook (Sam Allen Coaching Creatively) and I will add you. Yesterday’s prompt was butterflies and so I wrote the following poem…
🦋 Butterflies 🦋
What if this were the kind of love
that flutters by
all ladybird red and wide-eyed? 🐞
The ferociously fly-by type that swoops
into your heart with wooing wings
silencing any sense of reason
you ever had?
So many smitten souls have been sold to the sticky wings of ephemeral fancy
chancing earth and everything
for a fleeting
kiss 💋
Perhaps it’s safer to chase the fluttering feelings from a distance
simply watching as the perfumed pollination of the pulling
draws in and then retracts?

Perhaps it would be safer to simply wish for such fleeting fancies, at least until the dust settles?
