A Toast to the Coast

Today’s poem was written whilst lazing by the beach in Sitges before starting the final inner leadership retreat. Being by the sea is always so therapeutic and seems to put everything into perspective. I thoroughly enjoyed some seaside solitude and the poems seemed to wash in with the waves with ease and joy.

Recovery

As I inhale the salty sea

I can’t help but feel proud of me

It’s almost like I have refound

A peaceful, ebbing, softer sound

and as the sailboat glides with grace

upon the lilting water’s face

I am connected to the chords

of being with myself onboard

There is an ease, there is a trust

I’m cleansed by my own wanderlust

Just comfortable to pass the time

observing moments maritime

I didn’t know what would transpire

but how these dancing waves inspire

as I inhale the salty sea

and know, up there, you’re proud of me
