In the Mood for Food

The fabulous aromas of food can lure you into submission at times and today’s poem is all about the sensuality of smell. On reflecting upon particularly pungent olfactory memories, I found myself in culinary ecstasy whilst penning this piece!

Moreish

Gregarious garlic gathers in the sensuous slick

Flicks of balmy basil and teasing thyme climbing

up robust roasties.

Hungry as hell for your honey-glazed carrots

I sniff around like a wild wolverine

waiting for the tender thump of silky swede

guided by the glossy globules of gravy

senses seduced into insatiable salivation

whilst the warm vanilla vortex

Pulls me towards ecstasy.
