Healing Season

Back in early September I was processing some challenging feelings whilst out on a Sunday jog. The weather was glorious and I began to notice the first signs of the trees shedding their leaves and the autumn arriving. On witnessing the first signs of this change I simultaneously noticed myself discarding some of the old feelings and old story and it all felt very natural and cathartic!

Remnants

The leaves have started falling

The trees discard shed skin

Through trauma I am trawling

More healing called within

Upon the pavement, tweezers

Of dehydrated twig

Our souls know not amnesia

when impact has been big

The shade reveals composure

The light must filter in

Begin again’s the closure

The sun; a soothing kin

It was beyond appalling

I’m open to new spin

The leaves have started falling

The trees discard shed skin
