Special Gifts

Today, we are challenged to write a poem of gifts and joy. Within the poem it is suggested that we respond to the following questions : What would you give yourself, if you could have anything? What would you give someone else? When I ponder on those questions, all I can think of is my joyful Dad who left this world three years ago and how we could all do with his energy in our lives.

Bottle

A smile that shone out from your eyes

A heart so big and kind and wise

A face so human, eyes so bright

A will to always do things right

A rare ability to feel

Yet always grounded in things real

A conscience that was clear and cared

A love of jokes that could be shared

An eye for detail and precision

A faith in your own intuition

A warmth that filled the room with light

A spirit that embraced the fight

You stood for all in life that’s good

If I could bottle this, I would

And give it to those most in need

So that from it we all could feed

Pure joy like this, the world so needs
