Riquewihr Cheer

After clocking up a fair few kilometres walking during the festive period, we decided to have a lazy start and wound our way to ravishing Riquewihr. The afternoon was cold and deliciously sunny and we stopped for a customary tarte flambée lunch before ambling around the quirky side streets set against the atmospheric vineyards. Lots of memories of the time that we had spent here with Dad flooded back and I felt thankful, contented and invigorated as we took a couple of snaps and headed back home.

In the Light

Iced lemon breeze against our cheeks

We savour the light of the day

Together we’ve had two fantastic weeks

Did festive time in our own way

Tartes flambées, cheese and some hot fragrant teas

Riquewihr is always a winner

Picturesque vines guaranteed to please

And veggie Spag Bol for our dinner

Beauty is out there for those who seek

And we will pursue come what may

Iced lemon breeze against our cheeks

We savour the light of the day
