Nature Spot

About twenty minutes away from where we live there is a protected nature area with a little waterfall running through it. I only discovered it about a year ago and since then it is where I always come to slow down, take stock and listen to nature. I very rarely see another soul and feel lucky to have a peaceful haven to come to a stone’s throw away from the house. I often finish my jog there and do a short meditation whilst I catch my breath.

Nature’s Harbour

It was here where she always came

lichen logs and shaded stalks

It was here that she could reframe

Slow jogs and mindful walks

It was here where the truth blew

wind whispers and gnarled leaves

where she refound what she always knew

earth and water interweave

where the noise stopped and the joy began

where she felt not the force of man

where stillness spoke of life reclaimed

It was here where she always came
