As the birds chirp jovially in the garden I need to change register as today’s poetry challenge is to write about a villain faces an unfortunate situation, and is revealed to be human but still evil. For some reason one of the first villains I thought of was Cruella de Vil and so I have gone with her even though, as an animal lover, it is hard to want to humanise her!
Desperate footsteps crack through the sleeting side streets
Late is simply not in her vocabulary
Her gnarly neck tense with self reproach as she teeters towards her target
The chaotic curse of caffeine swirling around her frowning forehead
Finally, The House of DeVil towers triumphantly above the chilly City!
She smiles smugly at the ambition of her evil empire
Pride cometh before a fall…
Snap! Crunch! The skinny heel of her ruby red stiletto lodges into a pavement crevice
The surly spike of her suave shoe now dismembered and her ankle aching and inflamed
Cruella cries in pain as she inches towards the factory entrance
The sleet now snow and temperatures plummeting
Her nose as ruby red as her heelless stiletto
A sorry sight on this Siberian Saturday
I feel an unexpected pang of compassion for this horrid heiress
who snivels pitifully as her frozen fingers twist the golden door handle
Back home in her dastardly domain.
