Returned Goods

When I think back to some of the previous partings in my life hindsight really is a wonderful thing! Writing this Blues Stanza (A triplet stanza derived from the jazz tradition of lamentation or complaint) allowed me to put the world to rights retrospectively and was surprisingly cathartic!
Gift Returns
Please give me back the gifts you took from me

Yes, give me back the gifts you took from me

I’ll wrap them with a bow for all to see

I’ll open them again when I so choose

Reveal myself perhaps, that’s if I choose

Perhaps it’s then you’ll see what you will lose
I’ll see you standing there with open arms

All humble pie and sad with open arms

I’ll pity the bad timing of your charms
But I will not resent your sorry state

We’ve all been there before, regretful state

A hindsight found apology too late
A gaping hole of blue, so much to learn

Arms full, head high at the Gift Returns
